Hello everyone i would like to introduce myself before i begin. I am a man that was born into a catholic family and went to a catholic school for most of my life. It would be completely false to say i know more about the bible than the average person because i have not opened one for years. I am no longer catholic, but an atheist, and i would just like to comment on the posts i have been seeing lately on this sub-reddit.

People (atheists and christians alike) have been taking the bible, comparing completely contradicting quotes (for example the fact that the bible says anyone can repent and be saved, but it also says that if someone publicly denounces christ they are damned and can not repent) and saying that that completely unravels the religion and that it is now void and completely wrong. The thing most people don't understand is that the bible is stories of men, passed on by word of mouth, and then recorded by men. we are human and we make mistakes! The entire bible must be looked at as a book that is imagine this is bolded FILLED un bold xD with error! not only because you dont believe the faith but because people get things wrong! And this book was translated to english from a mix of many languages. The entire bible is open for debate even between devout christians. The bible is not to be looked at as fact, but the loose recording of what is thought to have occurred. i feel like i am getting off track so i am going to end it here.

thank you for reading! (sorry i dont know how to bold)
