December Pollyanna Style Swap
So for those of you interested in participating in a pollyanna style swap, please comment below stating your interest.
Potential/Entirely Negotiable Rough Draft of the Rules:
-
Each redditor is assigned 1 to 3 others to send to (let's vote on how many). The benefits of having only one person to give to is that it's cheaper, while the benefits of having multiple assignments for everyone is that everyone is almost guaranteed to actually receive something in return, and it could be a wider variety.
-
Getting Matched: After we decided how many redditors each person is assigned, I can make a list on my computer, and send a PM with each person's assignments. I suppose if that's the way we do it, then you should all send me your mailing addresses after you sign up so I can send those in the PM of the assignments too.
-
Send a small sample (again we can vote on how much to send). Some options could include sending a random sampler of some of your favorite tea bags (5 tea bags?), or sending ~5 servings of any kind(s) of tea. So you could in theory send several servings of one type of tea, or two or three servings of two different teas, etc. I guess it should be up to the sender whether or not they decide to mix it up or send one type.
-
Pricing: Above I suggested about 5 teabags (or servings if loose), but that of course is open to discussion. We should use our best judgment. If you're going to be sending an expensive tea, then I think it's totally understandable if only a small amount is sent. However, if you'll be sending a cheap tea (in price, not in quality), then maybe you could be more generous :) Where I live, there is an amazing tea/spice shop in the city, and I can get a 1/4lb of the BEST quality tea for about $3, so I could probably send more than a few cups worth of tea.
Thoughts?
Also, assuming that we do this, when should we set the dates for 1) closing sign up for this swap, and 2) sending/receiving the packages?
Edit 1: Though I have a redditgifts account, I don't think I can make this a redditgifts event since I'm not the subreddit mod :( It would have been nice to have it go through redditgifts, so I'm sorry to all of those who will be disappointed by that.
Edit 2: Thanks to Kateh17 and jesusapproves for taking initiative to help out :) Hopefully we can make this a redditgifts thing. And what do you think of Kateh17's idea for postponing this until January?
