Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer-- r/books thoughts?

I'm currently reading it. Partially for enjoyment, partially because all of my friends love it, partially because I'm performing a prose from it at a forensics tournament (acting & debate), and partially because I want to read it before the movie comes out.

What I've read thus far is extremely and incredibly enjoyable. I read his writing more like an epic poem. Maybe it's all the commas he uses.

People I have talked to about it say that Foer is the Vonnegut of the 21st Century. Although, I'm not exactly how true that is. What are you thoughts?
