Is the LoL community actually that bad?

Is it really the people that play the game, or is it just that the game brings out the worst in them? It seems like the long matches on Summoner's Rift that really cause it. I've been solo queuing Dominion where possible recently because there is so much less rage in it. So, is it the community or the game?
