Second monitor is blacking out when i play games in full screen

I dont know what the problems is but whenever i play anything in full screen on my primary monitor, my second monitor blacks out so nothing is visible on it. it only happens for games, i can watch videos in fullscreen no problem its just games that's doing it. i am using a gtx 550 ti video card. any help will be appreciated
