Where does one learn about the various springs and why one would put a particular type (slow, complex progressive) in a switch?

Been wondering if a lighter 55g spring might work in a boba u4.

Looks like no 12g chocs, any chance those will show up again soon?

Does anyone know what the spring weight of a Cherry MX Brown is? I want to try a lighter spring than it, but I'm having trouble finding that info.

They bottom out around 60g, actuate at 45g if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the reply, but I think that's measuring something else. I think that's the activation force, which is different from spring weight.

The activation/accuation weight is 45g while the bottom-out weight is 60g.

Congrats on not reading :p. Two switches can have identical springs but different actuation and bottom-out weights based on the design of the slider and other things.
