Looks like ramshorn
they never grow more than about 2mm and ive had them for 5+ years, there are no fish or anything to prey on them, if they are ramshorn where are the big ones?
In that case sorry, I’m not sure.
I have the same ones they are pretty small I think they are rams horn too.
do you think they are a different type than the standard ones that can grow big?
It’s different type of ramshorn - Gyraulus Chinensis. This is very small chinese ramshorn. I read they feed mostly on algae. For plants should be harmless, however it reproduce very quickly.
What most people mean as Ramshorn is different specie as you have on photo - Planorbella Duryi - this grows bigger.
Both as considered to be pests snails.
gyraulus chinensis!
i think you might be right... its amazing how little information or discussion there is on these considering they seem to be pretty common in aquariums
Yea you know what it could be that they reproduce really fast and all you see is small ones like in my tank I rarely see any adult looking ones just about this size.
Mini ramshorn, I feel your pain on those. I introduced 2 assassin snails last week, we'll see how they fare.
funnily enough i love them, they stay small, they dont leave big dead shells behind, perfect snail for aquariums if you ask me.. just looking for more information on them
Looks like mini ramshorn snails
