Welcome to the 20th Term | Reminders, Submissions, Information.

PinnedMETA

Hello everyone, and welcome to the 20th term of AustraliaSim.

This term will last until August. Congratulations to all of our new MPs, Senators, and other members who are joining us in our simulation. This term features 4 Green Left MPs, 5 Social Democratic MPs, 3 Australian Democratic MPs, 1 Country Labor MP, 1 Liberal MP, and 1 Independent MP.

Bill Submission

To submit Bills and Motions, you need to use this Google Form. It will send your bill/motion directly to the Speakership.

Only MPs and Senators can submit legislation. Non-Ministers in the House of Representatives require a seconder for their submissions. Public Citizens may submit business if they find a MP or Senator to second them.

For help with drafting, see the bill templates on r/AustraliaSimMeta, or talk to a member of the Moderation Team or a Clerk. We are happy to help you with anything you need in regards to bill writing.

Build your activity

Anyone, including Public Citizens (but not Senators), may debate business in this subreddit, which acts as the floor of the House of Representatives. Modifiers are granted to people who debate, submit legislation, or otherwise participate in this simulation. The quality of your comments also matters. Your chances of winning an election will increase if you consistently debate, should you run for a seat.

Reminders

  • Remember that there are debating and voting requirements for sitting Parliamentarians - see the meta handbooks on the sidebar for details.
  • Debates for the House are posted on r/AustraliaSim and are open to MPs and members of the public, but not Senators.
