Too bad California has made it very difficult to get a firearm in a timely fashion.
Suddenly 10-14 day waiting periods, and especially the approved roster aren't such great ideas.

Study for 10 minutes, walk up to the store, take the exam, pass, don't even think just point at a g19, pay, walk out.
Boom, 10 days later you pick it up. Super easy.

However, for first time buyers, such as people buying in response to the riots and other pandemic calamity, its not that easy. Can't comment on other cities/states but in So-Cal there were several-hour long lines around the block and guns were mostly sold out. Then you had to come back another day and wait several more hours.
Well, I was one of those first time buyers last year during the Pandemic.
We went super early lunch break, everything was sold out, but they said I could pay in advance. Got a couple shiny G17's. One for me, one for spouse. And yeah there was a line.
It took 15 days to get the call to pick them up cause of delays, but all in all pretty easy. I get what you mean, but don't mind the 10 day wait period
