A homosexual Vietnam Veteran has an eye to eye conversation with Mitt Romney regarding gays rights. I am disgusted that such mentality is present in our elected officials.

The guy behind them with the recorder looks like a love child of chairman Mao and Lutz from 30 rock.
I thought he looked like George Constanza.
While I typically discourage people from basing their vote on a single issue because I think it's a little short-sighted, the way Romney bailed on the discussion smacks of the typical politician who treats their constituents like idiots and unworthy of their attention. That goes against the whole idea of public servants in my opinion and is something I just can't respect. I will give him credit for giving the guy an answer but to base your opinion on what the prevailing attitude was two hundred years ago is a bit misguided and not what the nation needs.
When that single issue has such a major impact on your own life, I think it's certainly alright to take a black-and-white position on that issue.
And what was the prevailing wisdom 200 years ago for the ability for women to cast a ballot and vote. What was the prevailing wisdom 200 years ago for how the government should determine the population of states with blacks/slaves? And what was the rights of blacks after they weren't enslaved? I wish the guy thought of calling him on that. But in the moment its pretty difficult.
This was awesome.
Get all these bigoted fucks away from power. I can tell you which of those two guys I'd rather let be president.
I'm willing to bet the fact that they are bigoted fucks is why they are willing to do most anything for the power in the first place though.
Have to get the bigoted fucks away from voting first. That's the hard part.
No, just don't give them an option. The system seems happy enough to deprive US of a decent option, I won't feel at all bad if the hateful bigots are left having to choose between two good upstanding people for once.
It's a demand market. If people weren't willing to vote for them, they wouldn't be candidates.
Disgusted by Romney's mentality? What's even more disgusting is he is a more moderate, some might call him bland, Republican among the ones running for nomination.
I would upvote this a million times if I could.
Could Romney be anymore condescending? What a prick ಠ_ಠ
Fuck this guy, man
Whats disturbing is that he's the most moderate of the GOP candidates.
What a bad ass.
I don't think being a homosexual or a veteran gives the man any more credence to ask a politician the very important questions of "Who the hell cares?" and "What the hell's difference?"
Equal protection clause should always be brought up in regards to any anti-gay rights bullshit.
The only thing I don't understand is why the OP seems surprised. Aren't politicians always the scum of the Earth? You can go anywhere in the world and ask the people about their political leaders. This will always be the case.
"Thank you, governor, and good luck..."
"Thank you."
"...you're gonna need it."
I am disgusted that such mentality is present in our elected officials.
I am disgusted that such mentality is present in anybody regarding gay rights.
Gay couples should have the same basic rights as any heterosexual couple.
And as far as the sanctity of marriage - we have people like Kim Kardashian getting married and divorced in the space of a week so she can boost her reality show ratings.
Total bullshit.
Man and man... woman and woman, what fucking difference does it make? Times are changing, the world is constantly evolving. We can't just keep living in the past because our religion tells us it is wrong. Not everyone has the same belief system, and when it comes to politics, politicians need to set there religious biases aside and think about what the people want. Seriously, what harm can come from allowing gay marriage? Oh yeah, the old, they are going to want to marry there horse next. Fuck that theory. ... However, realistically, I could see it leading to something like people wanting multiple partners. I do not know how I would feel about that.
Man i really dislike how people like Mitt argue. Starts off by trying to appeal to the christian demographic, then makes sure everyone knows they are the same age so he is not at a disadvantage for seniority, and that's just to start it all off. There is no logic in Mitts argument, only manipulation.

Notice when Romney figures out that they are the same age. We can tell who had a hard life.
I think that was actually the most awkward part of the whole thing for Romney, trying to duck past that one.
