Just recently turned on to Scotch, what is your favorite for the inexperienced palette

I have recently started taking a liking to Scotch, Glenfiddich 15 in particular. I do not know really anything about Scotch; my stepdad drinks it, so I decided to stock it (Glenfiddich 12) at the house for when he came to visit and ended up trying it and liking it.
