Corrin item ideas/theories

Kinetic sheild using transference mana.

As a gift for kerras, a shroud sigil with strong protection on it. Could just be a sunstone shroud to "take the hit" of his aura with the command "unsheath" to turn it off

An alarm book/ reminder notepad that beeps at him if it's not looked at within a time frame set at writing

A restraining order

A set of regen items tailored to maintaining simulacra

A device that can store several different sounds, probably using wind mana, that works like a tape recorder

Throwing daggers with teleportation anchor inscribed in them, maybe with extra runes that let them return to their sheaths after certain amount of time.

Maybe you point the daggers at the target and they just fly straight ahead before teleporting back to the sheaths when you whistle or something?

A gun with bullets that do that would be incredible, every time you fire the last bullet teleport back inside, infinite ammo!

Bullets tend to deform when they hit things. Corin might be able to use construction magic to make new bullets, though? If their guns use contained explosions, he'd want a way to automate that, too. Or turn it into Transference power.

A gun that shoots concentrated Air or Transference, maybe even Fire or a destructive Composite like Ruin or Incineration, would be incredibly dangerous. Though would it qualify as a gun?

I expect that a "gun" that shoots blasts of mana wouldn't be much better than a dueling cane that does.

I was thinking use Transference to propel something forward at high speed. Sort of like a mana-driven Railgun.

We know that Shapers make very good armor with spells. Presumably with Earth or Density mana, since Corin's Explode-y fist was ineffective.

I imagine Guardians have good defensive abilities with their enhancement for durability and life for regeneration. Or the grid says they combine into protection mana. We don't actually know that attunements automatically give access to the combined types. Sera will eventually get travel sorcery... well, eventually get teleportation, which we think of as a travel effect. I guess it's possible she has other travel sorcery spells already.
We wouldn't necessarily know if Jin had used a madness spell.
Elementalists are known for the ease with which they combine fire and air to get lightning. And Corin hasn't mentioned Acuity or Adaptation mana. Just life, mental, transference, and what he gets in AA3.
And speaking of The Torch to Light the Stars, >!If transcendence is the combined form of Life and Mental mana types, then Corin should have had a way to make it already. Just not as well as if he had the Biomancer attunement. !<

They automatically gain the ability to make it–if they have the right base Mana–but that's not to say they know how or that it's easy.

C = X% A & X% B. But they can't get C without knowing the amounts of each and training to get it right.

Elementalist is exception to most of this.

EDIT: Do you use Discord? There are lots of people who know more about this and they might be able to answer questions like 'has Jin used a madness spell?' and others you have.

The kinetic shield I don't really understand, is it a shield that only blocks kinetic or one that retaliates with kinetic?

Keras would slowly destroy it with his aura, so maybe it would protect not only him but itself?

The notebook sounds useful as something, not for him to use (at least that's how I see it).

A restraining order; that sounds useful, but who for? (AA3 Spoiler )>!Magnus!< or (AA1 Spoiler)>!Jin!<?

The regen items would probably be really complex; in AA1 Teft said it requires Life, Mental, and Grey to make a simulacra. Unless it was just Grey that they convert, one that did all of them, or one that did all of them on the simulacra, so maybe not actually really complex.

The recorder would probably use sound mana instead. Corin has actually seen or used something like this before in the return bell (if I remember right).

Yes? Normal sheilds and shrouds aren't effective at blocking kinetic force, but transference mana makes the subject... bouncy. With a good sheild, he could actually block punches.

Thats the strong protection, to protect itself. The shroud would just be where his aura is and block it from disintegrating people and things.

I think it would help Corrin with his focus problem

Yes and yes

Yes, thus be worth mad money and change the functional applications of simulacra.

Could use either I suppose, so long as he knew the right runes

Really? The fact that shields can't block kinetic seems like a major design flaw, what if a student uses a swords against another one.

That sounds really useful for Keras.

He has a focus problem? I mean he is a little eccentric but so is Cecily so it might be a requirement for enchanters. Could you explain why you think that?

How would he acquire them?

Making simulacra infinite could massively change the culture and economy of Kaldwyn. You could just mass produce people to work in your factories or mines.

Rowe, Andrew. On the Shoulders of Titans (Arcane Ascension Book 2) (pp. 65-66). Kindle Edition. It has a sound storing rune tied to an Air function rune, so that might be useful.

Re: design flaw I expect it goes back to the discussions in WoBM about sorcerous armor vs sorcerous shield. If you get hit with some of the force, you're more careful than if you don't.
