Yeah, I was supposed to see him in August. I’m disappointed.

Same here, I wasn't even planning to stay and see the Avett Bros. Ticketmaster is slow with refunds.

I hate to speculate but didn't he get his act cleaned up just recently? Had some addictions and demons which he apparently fought and won. Any chance he fell off the wagon and needs to spend time getting himself right?

That’s always a possibility. In this video posted Sept 18, 2020 offering context to and his inspiration for Long Violent History- he states he’s been sober for 6 months. That’s almost 8 months ago. So hopefully he’s 14 months sober now. He’s still got two festivals officially planned though, one of them (Hinterland Festival in Iowa is just 5 days before these cancelled dates. I’ve got fingers and toes crossed he doesn’t cancel because I’ve got tickets. Oddly enough, Avett Bros are performing at that festival too, different night. So he’ll be playing the night after the band he cancelled with... it all seems strange to me.

Anybody know why he would cancel? He’s only got two dates listed now. Montana in July and Iowa in August. I’ve got tickets to the Iowa show. They’re a week before these cancelled dates. He’s headlining night 2 of a music festival in Iowa so I thought perhaps he doesn’t want to “open” for another act?
There’s a chance he’s about to announce a bunch of dates himself? Maybe he booked a big headlining tour that would make him not able to play these days anymore. Im choosing to be optimistic
I REALLY hope this is right. I had a tickets to see him for the first time last April in Austin with my wife. Sitter lined up, hotel room,etc.
Can't tell you how pissed I still am that night got canned.
I saw him in December of 2019 so he was my last show before Covid. He’s so good. You’ll see him someday and it will be amazing. I know how disappointing it is. I was about a week away from seeing him and sturgill before it got canceled. I’ll always be upset about that
