I don't see this poem as one about a broken heart. It speaks to me about the trials of a long lasting relationship.
"Broken and forever mending" -the fights, the hardships, but also the resolutions
"Ornamented with reluctant scars" - past wounds that healed, reduced to nothing but an artifice.
"Badges of resilient trust" - a yeah. Trust. The foundation of every long term relationship. Worthy of trophies and badges.
"... in love" - do I need to say more?
I felt happy reading this. It reminded me that at the end of the way, love is not perfect, but a rather a complex system of opposites.
This is an excellent way to think about my piece and the same way I think about relationships and love.
Thank you for the feedback.
Small and beautiful, really reminded me of kintsugi (the art of using gold/silver to mend broken pottery), the verses are beautifully crafted, and so I couldn't help but picture one contemplating such vases and their golden scars. You could probably make this into a two part series for instance "cracked" and "mending", and then title both together as kintsugi (this is just my mind rambling though).
Anyways this is really amazing, as put by u/Soul_full_of_Sorrows "hauntingly beautiful". Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you so much. That's a great idea.

Ahhhhhh ( after reading your thread under a comment within this post)
so, ‘ on the shelf’,’
a trophy
of another heart you broke.
brought to us all in verse.
Yet, it’s hauntingly beautiful.
Eerie done so very well, wish I could applaud or something, sigh, I miss lounges :,)
Line one talks about forever mending, which I believe means that it is traumatic and won't ever be the same. Then it states that the pain is basically decorated with reluctant scars, or signs of weakness, perhaps insecurity that won't leave. Then it says badges of resilient trust, which I think means, you still can't help but trust in the lover who you once had. But it's gone
Ouch, someone had their heart broken lately huh? Been there. It's a nice image, I pictured an ornate mirror cracking at the centre, but resiliently only a little. Short and sweet, I like it.
Not recently. This is one I've had in the shelf. Thank you.
Plz see spectate comment. This thread of commentary makes the part I was confused about make sense. It’s the eerie portion…
