So if I distance myself from distancing myself, then Ill have power over having power
That thumbnail is so cursed :(
Does anyone have a link to the decision tree thingy Dr. K pulls up near the beginning of the video?
That's not a decision tree, it's the map / tree of a prototype version of Dr. K's Guide to Mental Health. It releases in July!
that is 100% a decision tree/flow chart XD it's a pretty well known information mapping style. ahh so it's not out yet? :(
Oh, I meant that it's not really supposed to help you make a decision, it's just a flowchart that maps out the content that is being released with the Guide.
Yeah it's not available yet but you can pre order and get access to it when it releases in July!
Dog wtf is that thumbnail
Question: What if I'm lonely AF, and my anxiety is about being alone a lot, and thinking that my friends don't really care about me that much? And every time I reach out to them, I'm "feeding the beast". Do I wait for them to reach out every time? That doesn't sound like a good idea. They might think I'm the one not caring if I do that.
Your last sentence is exactly what your brain uses to justify your compulsive worry. I think you should actually not call your friends for 1-2 weeks and sit with whatever happens. Maybe your friends will call you anyway which will reassure you, or maybe they won't and you notice it isn't actually so bad if you haven't heard from them in a couple of weeks.
I just watched this video and it perfectly explains what im feeling in social situations (wow btw Dr.k). For instance, I want to tell someone in a "meta way" that I feel awkward talking to them or I dont know how to act when I meet them. BUT what this leads to is an internal respone inside my head that says, "if you say this to the person they are going to think you are annoying/overthinking". How do I fix this?
