Why the hell am I starting to feel like EA and/or Nvidia are trolling Nvidia 560 TI owners over Battlefield 3?

We are now going on 2 months since the release of this game, and it is still virtually unplayable by the majority of owners of this card. You play the game for 5 - 10 minutes, it locks up and Windows then has to force close it. There have been many snake oil solutions regarding this issue put up on Nvidia's forums, but nothing seems to work (at least for me).

I had to update my 560s BIOS and it worked perfectly after that.

Could you, kind sir or madam, explain the necessary steps to do this without a floppy disk? :D

I found a .exe that did this. I will check for it when I get home later tonight.

I prefer a good Stout! There is some good information here: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=213926&st=40 . From what I read (it's been a while), depending on the brand of 560ti you purchased, you should be able to locate some sort of BIOS update on their website through some searching. People have been complaining like crazy over this so all brands should have come out with some sort of patch for this.

I bought the Asus ENGTX 560 Ti DCII/2DI/1GD5

Great card, but it made BF3 very sick. I did a great deal of looking around and it turned out that the program on the driver disc with my card ASUS Gamer OSD conflicts with BF3. I think its a video capture program.

I un-installed BF3, and un-installed ASUS Gamer OSD. Upon re-install of BF3 and 3 hours of testing no crashes.
