A lot of people shit on SBMM, but I personally enjoy not getting pub stompped in every match because I don't play the game religiously.

My friend and I re-downloaded MW2 for nostalgic sake, and I wasn't having fun dying a dozen times without a single kill.

"jUsT gIt GuD, n00b" Well, some people don't have time to get good. They just want to go home and have fun playing few matches with those in their skill range.

A lot of people shit on SBMM

because it rarely works. i used to play warzone and then they fucked with the sbmm and now I just get ripped no matter how I play. It's just not fun anymore and after months of losing every single gunfight and having my whole squad wiped by people obviously way better than us, we just quit. Moved to Apex. Much better experience.

If you're bad at the game and you're not having fun then don't play it. If you're bad at the game and you're still having fun then just keep playing the game and get better at it. It's nobody's fault that someone is better than you or that you're better than someone else

So, I shouldn't play any multiplayer games because there are players better than me?

I think SBMM opens the gate for all players to play with those in their skill bracket. Competitive players get matched with competitive players while casual players get matched with casuals.

I don't think games should be gate-kept because of the player's skill. That's why a lot of games for ages have difficulty settings for those who want to play normally, casually, or those who want an extra challenge by cranking it up to 'Nightmare' mode.

How the fuck did you get that? That is literally the opposite of what I said

If you're bad at the game and you're not having fun then don't play it.

The game itself can be fun, but that fun is quickly taken away when being on the receiving end of being pub stomped. It's harder to get better constantly dying to top-rank players.

I think SBMM is a good remedy for newer players to slowly climb the hierarchy as opposed to throwing them in a random lobby of veterans.

I'm enjoying multiplayer shooters again thanks to SBMM, so I think this method allows a broader demographic of players to have fun.

What really cracks me up is youtuber that literally make a living out of the game complaining because he want easier lobbies. Literally to ruin low skills players days!

for real i don't and never will understand the phrases sweats and tryhards. like well don't you try to win? so aren't they just better? i get in some games you can spam unrealistic mechanics to win which makes it less fun but i hear the younger generation use this term so often when they lose and i always laugh. we all wanna win, some people beat us thats ok

Because sometimes what's effective is not necessarily what's fun or challenging, and when the game is poorly balanced (as a great many PVP games are), and you keep running into the same cheese over and over again, it can get pretty tiresome.

Remember back in CoD4 when people just ran around with the m16 and noob tube with martyrdom? or people using akimbo 1887 in MW2? Remember how unfun it was to be killed by the same weapons over and over and over? And how refreshing it was when you got a lobby with people using guns they liked? That's what it's like when people are sitting up straight popping a few Adderall and going as hard as they can in normal/casual matchmaking.

that's fair, i do think that there are cases where that is true as I said above, but the amount of bitching people do when they lose about someone being a tryhard is just silly. we never had that term for people because we knew everyone is trying to win and trying to get kills. maybe they take advantage but the phrase itself is just silly imo. but hey thats why its just my opinion

I agree with you that sometimes people can throw the word around in silly cases. If I'm playing, for example a ranked game like Rainbow 6 Siege or even something like League of Legends, in those ranked modes you should be trying your best to win. If you aren't then you're essentially letting down 4 other people on your team which is kind of scummy. You should always be trying your best in ranked games, so if you lose a ranked game, even if because the enemy banded together to make a strong team composition and even used a cheesy strategy, your excuse shouldn't be "well they tried harder than me" that's just childish.

this summarizes my thoughts well, thanks!

Meanwhile at China.... purchase cheats and brags about his K/D

In China the skill level is measured differently - how well made your aimbot is.

“Get good noob” = “get better aimbot, noob”

Kinda hard to have fun when I'm getting continuously bodied and can't even fight back because I don't spend 12 hours a day playing like my opponent.

I play apex sometimes i come across a full team with individual kills of more than 50k on a single legend in a non ranked game. Literally more kills than all my squad combined life time kills.
