Made homemade rust, vinegar, oak gall stain. The results are better than I expected.

Is that some golden Heinz?
Yeah, it is a rare from Mini Brands. The character has been using polymorph and cheating in different competitions. Apparently his is an award winning ketchup when in that shape, and a few best in show, and best donut, etc... anything that gets him gold.
Those tiny action figures are so great
I love them, they are from the "World's Smallest" brand.

You might like this video. I came across it when I was looking for techniques on painting a pirate chest. The black wash and dry brushing create an almost magical effect.
Watch out for Francis Dolarhyde...I heard he's a big fan of your work.
Going a bit of a different route. From the books these characters are based on, the person in that room is a dragon hiding in human form. The last book comes out this year, so going to keep the vaguest notion of the three characters and make them my own.
In my new version the character was a dragon terrorizing a Spanish city. Instead of being killed, a mage sealed most of his dragon-essence into the Blake painting. (Luckily Blake did multiple versions of the Dragon, so it isn't a unique quantity).
So think an inverse Dorian Gray: big bad dragon is stuck as a human, but without that part of himself he is just a bratty teen. The more human he becomes, the more access he gets to his dragon abilities and mass shifting.
