I kinda got an idea how to make these.
One big square fishnet with chains connecting the rows. Single crochet at the edges in the middle in green and connecting them with chaincochet. 
I don't know how to make the thump hole. 
Is this a good idea? I want to make them too.

Probably one of the fishnet holes would be big enough to put your thumb through.
