Mystic beast event: Priority advice
We have a new event, this time with special rewards! This one introduced many special rewards: Crystals, Alchemy tickets in bulk and in singles, renown, Mystic soulstones ( skill levelups ), Gold, XP and Runes all in one is something we've never seen before. Many players have asked me what's the best value, and while context matters here, there are some easy comparisons to make which might help you.
Mu's facial expressions are so real recently.
Disclaimer - Context: while you can compare how difficult certain rewards are to get, sometimes lesser valued rewards can be exactly what you need - in the long term you'll probably need all of those, but keep this in mind while prioritizing.
TL;DR:
Renown is super underrated, Crystals are a noob trap.
S Tier: Renown
A Tier: 10 Alchemy Tickets
B Tier: Class Runes, Mystic Soulstones, XP pots, 1 alchemy ticket
C Tier: Color Runes ( High ), Gold
F Tier: Crystals, Color Runes ( Mid )
Methodology
To better compare these I'm going to introduce 2 metrics - Relative V/MT ( Relative Value per Mystic Token ), and Absolute V/MT (Absolute value per mystic token).
The Relative V/MT will hold the equivalent of one mystic token in the current method of obtaining the underlying resource. This is important because many of the rewards are given at high rates, making them less trivial to compare ( is 50,000 renown better, or are 200 XP elixirs? )
The absolute V/MT Will hold the comparison between relative VMTs - we'll compare the value from the different resources used to see what's the absolute value of the trade.
To determine the relative V/MT I'll use the most efficient, consistent method and price of obtaining these resources - while there are certain events that make things cheaper, and you could certainly buy XP elixirs at the store, most players farm XP at the XP halls - so that is the best point of reference I think we currently have.
Higher AVM/T Means the reward is better as a whole; small gaps can be reasoned by context, but some big gaps are meaningful enough to justify picking one reward before another for almost all cases. This is how I divided the rewards into tiers.
| Reward | MT Price | Reward / MT | RVM/T | Reference | Comment | AVM/T | Reward Tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 Alchemy Tickets | 200 | 0.05 Alchemy Tickets | 15 crystals | 300 crystals per summon = ticket | Crystals are converted to AVM/T using the alliance replica chest. While crystals can produce replica and normal gear, the star rates are similar. | 250 | A |
| 1 Alchemy Ticket | 25 | 0.04 Alchemy Tickets | 12 crystals | Same as above | Same as above. | 200 | B |
| 500 Crystals | 300 | 1.66 Crystals | 1.66 crystals | Reward / MT | Same as above. | 55 | F |
| 50k Renown | 50 | 1000 renown | 300 alliance tokens | Alliace store | This is SO underrated because it doesn't have a color. | 300 | S |
| 20 Elixirs of Insight | 5 | 4 Elixirs | 200 alliance tokens | Alliance store Energy Average ( 2k ) -> XP Halls Average rate ( 100 Energy / Elixir ) | While limited daily, its significantly more efficient than Alliance Store XP rates. | 200 | B |
| 3 Potent Elixirs of Insight | 3 | 1 big elixir ( = 3 Elixirs ) | 150 alliance tokens | Same as above | Same as above | 150 | B |
| 100k Gold | 30 | 3333 Gold | 83 alliance tokens | Alliance store Energy Average ( 2k ) -> Treasure Halls Average rate ( 20 gold / energy ); | While limited daily, this is more efficient than the alliance gold chests. | 83 | C |
| Mystic Soulstone | 100 | 0.01 Mystic Soulstones | 150 alliance tokens | Alliance store deal. | Note this is also scarce. | 150 | B |
| Class Rune | 10 | 0.1 Class Runes | 400 energy | Elemental Halls | Roughly 4k energy per class rune ( & more ) | 200 | B |
| Color Rune(High) | 10 | 0.1 Color Rune(High) | 150 energy | Elemental halls | Roughly 1.5k energy per color rune ( & more ) | 75 | C |
| Color Rune(Mid) | 10 | 0.1 Color Rune(Mid) | 75 energy | Elemental halls | Roughly 750 energy per color rune ( and more ) | 37 | F |
Final notes:
- The game is great. the devs made most rewards pretty balanced.
- This is blind to context and relies on general comparisons for the most efficient modes of acquisition, as well as some alliance store rates in the endgame.
- You'll need to acquire all resources eventually, so it might be worthwhile getting something that's very cheap here for later use.
- Some resources have different values than what some people think at first.
- We need more guidemakers, and give us auto battle & dev communications while we're at it. The game is going in a good direction :)
- Tierlist next?
- Let me know what you think!
