GOM is trolling the players here majorly. Both top 2 are cursed. Winning a special event contributes even more the the Kong lineage, and who ever comes second, well, it'll be another silver medal!

Why Kong you may ask?
In Brood War was progamer Yellow, he got 2nd on all tournaments.
And one day he made dance, and that dance was called Kongdance

That made me smile. A lot.
Yellow is small/short like a Kong(bean) and his last name Hong sounds similar to Kong. The dance came after (source: Project A)
I've never seen this and now I can't stop laughing
And on the 2nd day, dance was made.
But why kongdance? That kind of begs the question.

FYI members of the Kong line are allowed to win "Special" tournaments and in fact it happens a good bit. Yellow used to win plenty of tournaments like this.

Both. Kong line = You only win special events, everything else is Second place. This would count as a special event.

Arena of Legends tournies are played online. Can he do both?
I really hope it is casted from replays and played a few days in advance, so that it works out. Homestory Cup starts on the fifth, which is the last day of this tourney. If it's live and MKP lost early, it could still work.

Why is GOMtv nerfing their prize pool again? <$4k tournament that has smaller prize pool than even the first AOL, yet the HD pass still cost $5.
I imagine it's because it's a tourney for runner-ups and not champions. Looks like a little bit of fun so I wouldn't take the prize pool too seriously.
EDIT: Looks like the winner gets a little bit more than the first AOL gave.
If they aren't going to take the prize pool seriously they shouldn't take the HD pass seriously either. Should've been $2.
