Good deal?

Hello all,

I’ve found a local seller for a single L3+ and it would be my first mining. Sell had it listed for $1900, now $1700, thinking of offering $1400 as a start and probably split around $~1550.

First question, is that a decent purchase price, without a PSU?

Also, where would the best place be to get a quality PSU if I do purchase? Thanks!

I would look on ebay with a reputable seller. The prices you mentioned will get you the miner + the bitmain AWP PSU.

I'm selling 9 with psus and all cables for $1200 each.

I'm going to let you do the math yourself on this one.

A year ago, people were selling L3+ for under $100 for each machine because the profit margins just wasn't there. Then the price of the coins started to rise, nothing else has changed, its still the same if not harder pool hashrate to compete with and there has been a halving since. It's only because the price of the coins has gone up, its worth it again.

You would get about ten bucks a day with non stop mining with a L3+, not even accounting for electricity. You can do the math whether you want to make that deal or not.

$10? Minerstats said $5.80 a day right now.

And I have access to free power.

https://www.litecoinpool.org/calc?hashrate=600&speedunit=MH%2Fs&difficulty=12087807.150035&ppsratio=480&price=172.59&currency=USD&power=&energycost=0.10

I have mine running at 600Mhs, and with the current prices, you get $10.34 not counting electricity. It also helps to use the profitability calculator from the actual pool or service you want to mine since its more accurate.

EDIT:

https://minerstat.com/hardware/antminer-l3plusplus

Even according to minerstat, and using nicehash, after all the fees and stuff, it calculates it to be about $9 something. I don't know where you are getting $5.80

Ah, I see your issue. But I’m also with an issue.

I mentioned an L3+, not an L3++ that you linked. But I also realized I’m quoting my 2080Ti, so this is my mistake.

Looks like an L3+ is getting $8.54 a day at 600Mhs currently with Doge which I’ll be mining https://i.imgur.com/CIBD76i.jpg

FYI L3++ is just an overclocked L3+. You can make your L3+ into a L3++ with a firmware flash.

L3++ is the same thing as an L3+, just bitmain decided to release part of their first batch of miners with overclock settings on them, and call them the L3++.

Actually in fact, the L3+ miners from the later batch they put out a few months later perform better than even the L3++. You can identify the batch by the color of the fans. The ones with the yellow fans are from the older batch, and the ones with the blue fans were from the more recent batch.

Hash rates are pretty consistent. There isn't much of a noticeable difference between the hashrates of any L3+ or L3++. They all seem to perform very similarly no matter what. But from my experience, the batch with the blue fans performs better.

I have 3 blue fan L3+ miners. I have 2 yellow fan L3+ miners. And I have one L3++ with a yellow fan. All 6 miners perform basically the exact same as far as hashrate goes. The blue fanned ones from the later batch have substantially lower hw errors though. (Which means I could probably overclock them further if I wanted to. Could probably reliably get 650mh/s if I really pushed it but with my power costs it's not really worth it watt for watt to push them further than what I have them at, which is 605mh/s).

Thank you kindly!!

Well, it's pretty close.

A local unit for $1500 plus another $200 or so for the PS + shipping is about the same amount they're going for on ebay with PS.

How are you going to test it if the power supply isn't there?

That’s a really good point I’d not thought about yet 😭🤣

I have deal 1 for 1000$

1 of my L3+ on LitecoinPool (the best pool IMO) is earning .055 LTC @ 550 mh/s today.

That’s $9.90/ day @ $180/LTC less about $1.54/day electricity (19.2 kw/h x $0.08 per Kw/h).

That’s $8.36/day profit or approx 185 days to pay off the equipment at $1550. You’ll also need a PSU, Ethernet cables, surge protection, dedicated outlets and a place to keep a device that sounds like a jet pushing out really hot air. A million things could happen in the next 185 days... LTC could go to $500 or back to $40. Doge could go $5 o 0.01. New miners will be coming online in the fall with much better hashing rates making the L3+ less profitable.

I would not look at mining using these numbers alone. Think big picture... you are supporting the network and earning LTC daily. Trade your LTC for other coins or simply hold. Technically you’re probably better off just buying $1800 LTC to store on a cold wallet and access it in 2030 but that’s not as exciting.

The new miners coming out in the fall will make the l3+ less profitable why? Arent we just competing with the hashrate?

Eh. You can get a better deal on ebay buy it now right now.
