$20 Kmart boots update

A couple weeks ago, I posted about these boots, which were selling for $20 at the time. Naturally, since they were boots that didn't have "Clark's" and "Desert" in the name, the post got downvoted to oblivion. However, a number of people did comment, so I figured I'd post a little update now that I've actually got them.

I asked a friend to buy them for me for Christmas, and they just arrived today. First impression is that they are a far, FAR nicer brown than the one shown in the photo on their website, and the fake leather ain't bad to look at. Observe. Other things that are not entirely made clear from the page: They have a side zip, and the lining is fleece (stripey socks FTW).

I've worn them all day today, and I must say that they're ridiculously comfortable, with the fleece on the footbed. I could do without the silly stitching, but I don't really think it detracts from the look of the boot, and truth be told, you don't even see it when standing. The treads are nothing special, and we'll see how they hold up to a New England winter, but I would tentatively say that they're definitely worth the $20 paid, and possibly worth $35 as well.
