Should it matter?
I have no religion. I am totally indifferent to all of that. However, I do have a few friends who are hardcore Christians. I had absoloutley no proble with this, until on eof them found out that I was bisexual.
"Please, go straigt," she had said, "if you don't you will be condemned to Hell for all of eternity."
I was surprised. "Why?" I had asked.
"Because God hates those who are LGBT. He sends those who are to Hell and wishes the worst for them."
I became pissed. "Oh, really? I find that to be bullshit. If God only wanted us to love the opposite gender then why did he give us free will? Wouldn't he have programed us as robots? And if your god is as loving as you say he is, then why would he discriminate?" I argued.
"Because he believes it is un-natural!" She then motioned for another one of my Christian friends to come over. "Doesn't it say in the Bible that if you're LGBT you're going to Hell?" she demanded of our friend.
"Yes." The friend replied.
Now, see, I had been raised as a Christian, and at the private school I had attended we had read the Bible front to back. I did not recall any of this. "What book and verse?" I asked.
"Lejohn 32:50." Can you see what's wrong with that? They actually made up a freaking verse.
"That's not even a book." I pointed out. "So if you can't come upwith any proof, then I'm gonna continue to believe you're lying. And I guess I'm going to Hell then. Sorry for being attracted to anyone." And I walked away.
"Fine!" one yelled after me. "If you won't accept going straight or the Lord, then I refuse to be friends with such a blasphemous person as you!"
I mean, really? It shouldn't matter if we're Transgender, Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Straight, Pansexual or what. I don't believe in God, but wouldn't he just want his 'children' to be happy? I had always been taught that He would love you no matter what you did, and would always be ready to forgive you. And if you believe the "GOD HATES F*GS' signs, then I have no business talking to you.
Why is humanity so cruel to those who are different?
