[build help] Trying to trim some cost / Quality check
First off, this build is going to be used for gaming and visualization (Up to 8 VMs). I wanted to spend about $750, but it looks like I am about a $120 over budget and I can't justify spending that much to myself. I am trying to reduce the cost of this build a bit. I already have done the following:
- Reuse my current case (HAF 932) Saved ~$100
- Not get a new hard drive. Saved ~$100
- Went for 4x4 instead of 2x8 for RAM. Saved ~$50
- Dropped from ultra to v on the Mobo. Saved $100
- Dropped from 750 to 650 watt PSU. Saved $30
- The rest of my parts are being cascaded down to my brother and he needs enough for a working computer, so I have to get a new PSU and GPU (They are also both quite old and I worry about them blowing out).
I also was wondering if I can get a quality check on the parts I chose and to make sure my RAM is compatible with the Mobo. Up till now I mostly chose similar brands to my previous build and switched to ASUS over Gigabyte because of the boot loop problems on the GB z68 boards. I would prefer a board with 8 channel sound. I also have amazon prime if that matters, but so far newegg has not been charging shipping, or still been cheaper.
It would appear the markup generator doesn't use the merchants I picked
