Playing Dxtroy in VLC

Hey guys I suppose this is the right place to post,

Just purchased Dxtroy for recording some BF3 gameplay and was hoping to watch the vids on VLC player. I get this message every time i try

"No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "xtor". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."

Is there a better program or am I doing something wrong??
