FPS issues, was wondering if anyone could offer some advice.

My gaming experience with SWTOR hasn't been that fun lately, I've been experiencing really bad frame rates. My graphics card is more than enough to satisfy the requirements (changing them from high to low seems to do nothing to improve performance), and my latency in the game has always been low. Perhaps I need more RAM on my computer? If anyone could offer some advice that would be great.
