[Troubleshooting] CPU Fan is stuck on max

So, I bought this CPU cooler:

Installed it fine, but the fan is stuck on 2900 RPM. I'm a bit worried : /

CPU and Mobo are:

Core 2 Quad Q9550

Asus P5Qpro

I tried installing speedfan, but I have no idea how to configure it in any meaningful way. Any would would be appreciated. Thanks
