Request on behalf of a friend in need

Hello r/assistance, I realize this may be a long shot, but I figure it is worth a shot to see if anyone would be willing to help or offer any suggestions for a couple in Anchorage Alaska USA. My good friend Cassie* name changed for privacy* & her newlywed husband Garrett* are going through a rough patch getting their lives started together, due to their living situation changing after they got married in a town 45 minutes away they had to move to Anchorage where Garrett started looking for a new job. Cassie is due to have a baby girl late February, and as of Monday night, the two( and a half) are sleeping on the hide a bed couch of mine and my husbands one bedroom apartment. Her husband started a job at a local hardware store on Monday but but due to orientation, and just starting out they are not set to get a paycheck for at least 2-3 weeks leaving them with no income until then and not much to start off with while bringing a baby into the world. Too be honest, I don't mind sharing our apartment and If my husband and I were well off enough ourselves we would help out in more ways then we are but as we are not able to, I am working with their family who also doesn't have much to contribute to pull together some funds for a security deposit on a place for these two before their little girl is born in February.

I have established an email account and a paypal account to help raise funds, and anything anyone is willing to contribute, advice, funds etc. is appreciated.

paypal email: helpakmentzers@gmail.com

Also I should mention they are in the process of filing for Section 8 housing so they may get a reduced rate to get them started, but due to the wait list in Anchorage it's not likely they'll get anything anytime soon.

Hopefuly I am doing this right? If not, let me know, also pm me for verification or questions. I choose not to use a throwaway for the sake of verification. My husband and I have lived in Alaska 5-11 years combined, and reddit has been good to us; nothing to hide here.
