Economic strategy game recommendation

Hi, I saw some footage of Anno 2070 and would like to buy something similar, but significantly cheaper. The only game from this genre I have ever played was Settlers III, it was quite nice.

The thing is I have no knowledge of the situation in the genre right now and most of review sites I tend to visit have failed me. Can you recommend me something.

Thank you
