Flew home for Christmas, got a bottle of Bombay Sapphire (yay!), now how do I bring it back with me?!

I flew home (carry-ons only) for Christmas from school, with plans to ship my gifts to myself back at school. My parents were kind enough to give me a glorious bottle of Bombay Sapphire for Christmas, but now I don't know what to do with it!

I obviously can't carry it on, I know it's illegal to ship alcohol via USPS, and if I check a bag I'm pretty sure a bottle of top shelf stuff will be deemed a "security threat" and subsequently become "neutralized" from my luggage by my friendly neighborhood TSA goon.

Some research on the internet says that although FedEx and UPS say they won't ship alcohol, if you pack it well and don't spill the beans it should make it there alright.

Does anyone have any tips or experience with surreptitiously shipping alcohol? (N.B. - I'm not chugging a fifth of gin in the next few days just to avoid the problem altogether :D)
