Bought foil Thraximundar, interested in making budget EDH deck. Help?

Hi all, I found a foil Thraximundar at the local game store, and the price seemed fair. The card is so awesome, and it's art is by my favorite Magic artist, so I figured I'd get one.

I've heard he can be a great EDH general, so I'm wondering what kind of deck I can sculpt him into. I know very little about EDH at all, so I don't know what would make for a good EDH deck. I would prefer something under $50 total, unless that's truly impossible; $100 in that case.

It looks like he's great for sacrifice effects, and I've heard people building Thraximundar decks with that or reanimation effects in mind.

I have some cards that might help reduce the cost, like a Kiki Jiki, Aether Vial, Sensei's Divining Top, Keiga the Tide Star, Grave Titan, Frost Titan, Ryusei the Falling Star, Journeyer's Kite, Acquire, and Through the Breach. Also any Grixis cards from the Ajani vs. Nicol Bolas duel deck set. Some of those seem pretty good, and may offset some of the cost.

So yeah, an intro to how EDH decks work and succeed would be nice, and then some suggestions for a nice, cheap deck for Thraximundar that I could cobble together soon to play around with. I don't plan on entering events, just playing with friends. For now, at least :P.
