Buying from Steam Earlier/Now, Problems?

I got home from work at 4:15 EST, and the Steam sale ended at 5PM EST. I had already loaded what I wanted into the cart at work, but I never use my credit card/CVV because, well, I'm a little paranoid about that sort of thing.

When I got home, their server was running a little slow, but I put in my info. The first couple times, they said there was a problem with my card. After that, they said that my credit card was declined by the bank, which is odd since I used it the day before and I wasn't anywhere near my limit. After confirming with the bank that all was well and good, I tried with my debit card and paypal. 5PM came and went, and I submitted a ticket.

I'm interested in a few games from today's sale, but I'm hesitant to try to purchase anything for this reason. Has anyone else experienced an issue with it?
