Need some opinions on piercing!

I'm a 21yo male college student and for the past couple of days I have been debating whether or not to get my lip pierced. What makes me hesitant initially is I'm not really sure of the general consensus on guys with lip piercings and second is the fact that I just recently lost my job and am going to have to find another when I get back to school. So what I ask of you:

1. How do you all feel about guys with pierced lips and
2. if I get it done before I find a job how should I go about concealing for interviews and whatnot?
