Standard tools, what are they? (Metric vs. Decimal)

Ok so the question in the headline is a partial one. I was curious those of you not in the US, for here we have metric tool sets and standard (Inches, feet, etc...) tool sets. In Europe and pretty much anywhere else I think, I believe standard would actually be metric. So Is standard a specified name set to the system americans use? Or, is there another name and what are the names of the respective tools sets outside of the US?
