With this week's bitch session about how r/atheism is "just so gosh darned mean spirited," I'm once again amazed at how some folks automatically assume that they have the right to not be offended.
And offended by what? Here's my analogy to the common thread with these assholes.
Theist: Why are you complaining about the country club I belong to?
Atheist: Because they don't admit black members.
Theist: Not all members of the club are racist. Some of them have black friends.
Atheist: That doesn't change the fact that the country club, along with many of it's members are racist and that you, by your continued financial support of the club are complicit in their actions.
Theist: You're just a hateful person!!!!! Why can't you just leave me alone?! BTW, if you don't join the club, you're going to get your ass whooped by a mob of golfers.
Atheist: What?!
Theist: The club president said that everyone, except black people, have to join the club or a mob of golfers will show up at their door one day and kick the shit out of them.
Atheist: Why would you follow such a horribly violent individual? That's a vindictive and malicious policy!
Theist: Why are you such a hateful person?! Can't you just respect my membership to a white only country club that promises to beat the shit out of anyone that doesn't join?
