How to build a "hot loop" phone system?

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this idea of mine. I'm looking to build a "hot loop" type phone system that is somewhat similar to the old EE-8-A type phone the US Army used. My idea is that there will be a handset at either end and a buzzer. When wanting to make a call, one buzzes the other end by pushing a momentary contact switch. The other end has a SPDT switch that toggles between either visual (LED) or audible call alert. Each phone holds its own power sources (one to buzz the other phone and one to power its sending end of the actual "phone"). I'm looking for each circuit to be independent of each other and to be able to be used between distances of up to 200 yards (connected with 8 wires phone wire and either Cinch Jones or Anderson Power-pole connectors). I'm good with my hands and a soldering iron and have a basic electronics knowledge for following a schematic, but i don't know enough to come up with the proper components and draw up a complete schematic. I'm hoping that those of you who are knowledgeable can come up with an easy-to-follow and labeled schematic and matching parts list so that i can purchase all the necessary components from Radio Shack or this other electronics supply store, just as long as i don't have to buy anything from online. Any questions, email me at cwnj41@yahoo.com and thanks to all who reply and/or give helpful insight into this personal project of mine.
