Using OKC to make friends? Is this... possible?

I've had mixed success meeting people on OkCupid for dates or sex (several hits, lots of misses) and I'm happily in a relationship now, but I'm really lacking in the friend department. Being pregnant has really limited my friendships to those of the non drinking buddy variety, which is actually way more isolating that I thought it'd be.

So I was thinking of tweaking my (inactive but still complete) profile on OkCupid to look for some new people to meet for platonic hangouts. Is this a realistic goal or will people assume I'm looking for dates/sex regardless of what my profile says?
