Symbolism, loose ends etc in Melancholia. **DISCUSSION MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**

Having seen Melancholia last night, I'm still puzzling over things like the 19th hole of the golf course and the bridge that Justine never manages to cross.

And then there's the planet itself -- should we take Melancholia to be real? Does Justine somehow draw strength from it as it approaches?

I haven't seen a really good discussion of these issues anywhere -- perhaps we could start one here.
