Spinny wheel on Reddit is not going away. Help?

I received a new MacBook for Christmas and decided to get on Reddit for the first time on a formal computer (I have been using my phone since January, when I signed up). I noticed after a few minutes that the skinny wheel thing had shown up and wasn't going away. Is there something I need to do to get this to stop?
