99 Chevy Malibu worth the repairs?

Today I was driving to a friends house and the side street was all Ice and some snow from last nights storm and I slid and hit the curb with my drivers side wheel. Wheel is trash same with the rim and it sits crooked all while being pushed back an inch or two.

So basically the wheel is done and the repair guys said the strut etc behind the wheel is wrecked. They can't give me an estimate until tomorrow, but tentatively they told me $1500-2000.

Yes? No? advice on cheap good cars to buy for same price?
