Studio percussion pads, weighing my options. Any tips?
I'm trying to buff my percussion abilities in my humble jam studio. Right now I have my Yamaha velocity-sensitive keyboard plugged in via USB into Logic/Reaper, and it sounds pretty good for "live" software jam sessions. However I want to upgrade from a keyboard to drum pads and 2 foot pedals.
I'm thinking something along the lines of a Pyle-Pro PTED01 or Alesis ControlPad USB. Both are products I found through just Googling and reading amazon reviews.
There are lots of other drum machines out there, but I'm looking for something that I can play live that doesn't necessarily have to resemble a drum kit. Although something like the Alesis DM series looks sweet too.
Dunno what to do, just looking for some sage advice.
Any thoughts?
