I've heard of a story, maybe you guys can help me out. (Google failed me)
In the story the protagonist gets a theory that people die simply because they accept death as a concept. He flat out refuses this idea, and when his time comes Death shows up to meet him in a tavern. Death informs him that the protagonist's theory is in fact sound but death must take its tole no matter what. Instead they strike a deal in which the man tells death about his life. Once he concludes his story death is fascinated by concept of life and grants the protagonist another hundred years to live, upon condition that every 100 years they meet in a tavern to talk.
I have never heard of a book like this and it sounds actually pretty fucking cool. Is it an actual book/story or was he simply too shy to admit it was his own concept?
