How likely are you to get caught pirating?

I remember seeing a story a few years back about a guy who got fined $800,000 for pirating a song or something, and I was wondering, how likely is it that an average joe torrent will get caught illegally downloading something? Is the likelyhood higher for some content than others (games, music, movies.)?
