Quick question: Cocky or Needy?

Hey Seddit, long time lurker first time posting. Just had a question question for you on a little scenario going on right now. Meeting up with a girl tomorrow, I found out this evening (from her) that she is going to a party new years eve. I thought of the idea of saying something like "That party sounds fun, if you need a date let me know".

I was just curious what Seddit thinks of lines like these. Does it come off as a cocky flirt or desperate? For a more general question, how would you work the situation? Do you just come out and ask for a invite or try to make it seem like her idea?
