Question about the size of the universe.

Hey guys need help wrapping my head around this idea. This may sound like a stupid question but its got me pretty stumped.

*The big bang theory says that the universe expanded outward from a single point 13.75 billion years ago *matter cannot travel faster than the speed of light How can the universe be bigger than 13.75 billion light years across?
