Buying skiis for first time, help!

Hey guys, I got a couple hundred dollars from Christmas and I think I would like to buy some skis. I have only gone skiing about 5 times though and can't say I know too much about what goes in to deciding on a pair of skis and don't really wanna mess it up.

I would classify my skiing level as intermediate. I can go on green circles and blue squares no problem and I can handle a couple of black diamonds but they make me a little anxious.

I weigh about 175, I'm 5'8

What I've gathered so far: I'll probably need alpine skis length will be 160cm

I would like to know what is a good website you guys use to buy your skis (reliable, and preferably cheap) As well as what brands are fairly reputable or may be better for intermediate skiers

Also, any other tips for a beginner ski buyer would be awesome. thanks for your help!
