melting toilet/pipes

In s01e03 (i think), the episode opens with jesse and walt cleaning up a melted body mess. and then it shows walt dumping the bucket of acid and guts down the toilet. Why does he pour it down the toilet when jesse wasn't even supposed to dissolve the body in the bathtub?
