trying to decide if i'm interested or not...

normally i'd post in r/relationship_advice, but i have a good feeling i might find someone in a similar situation in r/teenagers.

so here's my story; it's not too long, nor is it complex, but i promise you, it's not juicy. if you're looking for drama, might wanna turn around here.

so there's this girl. she's pretty by any standards, and everyone loves her in school; generally, she's an all-around good person.

last year and over the summer, she started developing a thing for me. i didn't really react to it for some reason or another.

now, though, we've grown pretty close. it's clear to me that she wants a relationship, but i'm still unsure.

it isn't that i desperately want a relationship but i have severe doubts about the girl...in fact, my last experience in a relationship wasn't much fun. i'm just genuinely on the fence on if i want to be closer with the girl.

now obviously i don't expect to look at someone and just know they're the one. i'm not looking for a life partner, for god's sake.

what i am doing, though, is trying to avoid unhealthy relationships. i've always taken to heart the advice that i should date as many girls as i can. i understand why. on the same token, i don't like the idea of wasting energy on something which won't develop in the end.

what i've been doing is just spending a lot of time with the girl, one-on-one, just to find out who she is, what she's about, you know, all that. it feels weird, to be honest, to actually date someone.

does anyone know this feeling of indecision? any advice, or maybe a story?
