Hold position without attacking?

I'm used to holding my position (H) then pressing (A) to go about denying and creep killing. The only problem, (coming from HoN) is that my character auto attacks if he is within range of an enemy (Ranged auto attack, and melee attack if close up). Is there a way to hold positions without attacking?
